Shoot . . . Aphyosemion australe
the Golden Killifish

I was sitting around my fish room with
the camera in my hand and I was trying to catch a pair of
Apistogramma's spawning . . . the wait was forever. They
were clearly just taking their time. I looked over at
the tank of Aphyosemion australe's and there they were in
the process of laying eggs. I hesitated to clean the inside
and outside of the glass for fear of disturbing them so what
you see today is what you get. It was a very interesting
moment because most people never see killifish much less
watch them spawn so I sat there and recorded what I could.
I will explain why the male is orange and the female is "regular" color
but trust me, in the world of killifish, that's OK! The explaination
will be for another article I am working on as I have become
very
interested in this particular killifish and the origination
of the orange color and all of the 2-3-4 different names
this fish goes by even in the stringent world of killie names.
Have fun and enjoy the pictures I took that day . . . and investigate
killifish as a hobby if you are looking for a really rewarding
new part for your aquarium world. |

 My
Cherrie??? |

My Cherrie . . . are you here? |

Over here! You can't find
me . . . my Piere . . . |

Ahhh . . . I find you, Cherrie!
We shall make love . . . |

Where did you go, Cherrie??? |

Are you in there, Cherrie???
|
|
There you are my sweet . . .
|
. . . may I show you my etchings? |

Oh, my Cherrie, we make
love until the morning sun . . . |
. . . and they were happy
forever.
The
End! |
